Quickie: Filling a hole in the wall.

This is what the side of my apartment looked like this Saturday.  My air conditioner was diagnosed as having a coolant leak and a problem with the evaporator. After about $670, the problem was repaired and the hole in the wall replaced with a working air conditioner - just in time for the summer's heat.

When I woke up this morning, I had no idea that my air conditioner would be ready today. Since I had no immediate plans that required the presence of Mario or Marian, I hung out at home waiting for my Freshly delivery to arrive.  Then, I planned to get dressed as Marian and go out for the day.  However, things changed a little when I got a call from the appliance store, saying that my AC was ready.  So I showered and dressed as Mario, and waited for the return of my AC.  While waiting, I found that my Freshly box was delivered - this time, the box was right side up.  (I guess the delivery person had tired of just tossing it in front of my door on its side.)  And I loaded my meals into the refrigerator just before the AC arrived.

The AC looked as good as new when it came back.  They made sure to clean it well before sending it back to me. Since the two fellows work hard, schlepping heavy goods up and down staircases, then (re)installing those goods (such as my AC), I made sure to tip them this time as a way of saying thanks.  Then, they were gone - and I had the rest of the day to myself.

Shortly after the folks from the appliance repair shop left, I finished up writing a special version of my resume and sent it off to a prospective employer.  Hopefully, they will see that I'm the same person who has been volunteering at the organization, and that they will consider it a plus as they interview for the open position.

As much as I had plans to go outside and see the sun, I ended up staying indoors afterwards and doing nothing, save to schedule dinner with JS and daughter for Friday night.  Although we won't be able to speak as openly as we would otherwise, I'm hoping for a nice pleasant evening with a new friend.
