A Saturday meetup while GFJ is away.

Saturday.  I usually spend my weekends with GFJ, and rarely have a weekend to be out and about as Marian.  This was one of those weekends where GFJ is away, and as a result, I can play....

Earlier this week, I registered for today's meetup with the NY & CT Day Trips group. I wasn't sure if I wanted to go out and about, as I didn't have a thing to wear.  (Isn't that typical of most women?)  But it took me a while to find something appropriate for the weather that did not look overly formal for a weekend day.  Since I did find my denim skirt and a feminine looking top, I decided to go to the meetup and walk the grounds....

The original meetup schedule had us meeting at the Hammond museum & Japanese Garden at 11, and then going to lunch at 1:30.  However, the museum didn't open until noon, so I got there earlier than I needed to.  This allowed me to rest for 45 minutes then meet the group, being on time to a meetup for a change.  Although the museum was merely OK, the Japanese Garden was stunning - the above pictures do not do the place justice.

Once done with the museum and garden, we drove to a Japanese restaurant for lunch.  Much of that area of Westchester is a dead zone for my cell phone, and I was glad to get signal near the restaurant.  I sat next to the same woman I toured the garden with - one of the ladies who regularly attends the Beacon Dining Meetup gatherings.  And both of us enjoyed the Sushi/Sashimi special. There were several interesting conversations going on with several women I never met before - and all of them treated me as they would a cisgender female. It's a nice feeling to be one of the gals....

All too soon, lunch had to end and I had to go home.  GFJ was busy with her sister in DC, and wasn't available to chat.  So I drove home and took a needed rest for the day....
