Sometimes, a question's answer is self evident. This is the case with Pat. Her view of the world is so far away from the center that there is little chance of her seeing things the way an average person sees the world. And yet, I enjoy being with her - in moderation.

Waking up at 10 am, I got a string of calls from GFJ, Lili and Pat that made it impossible for me to go back to sleep, or even to nap again. Instead of napping, I ended up watching TV until well into the afternoon. Then I decided to see Pat for dinner. So it was shave, shower, make up and get dressed - and out the door I went. (I think I'm going to get a lot out of this blue dress I bought recently. Too bad that Catherine's didn't have it in more colors.)
Getting to Pat's place wasn't hard, but I did have to deal with a couple of minor traffic jams. But these jams are the ones I expect to hit when traveling to lower county, and not ones that affect my timing that much. By the time I was in her area, I ended up picking up some Chinese food before going into her place.
Pat is one who buys into left wing conspiracy theories. and when I arrived tonight, she was just turning off WBAI so we could talk. She listens to way too many crackpots on WBAI and doesn't fact check their harebrained theories. (There are some serious thinkers there as well, but she doesn't know how to separate the wheat from the chaff of ideas.) Yet, it was nice seeing her again. But she brought up her usual subjects of "conspiracy" and misogyny - and it does get tiring at times. Yes, we are a male dominated culture. Yet she doesn't see how women play a part in perpetuating this unhealthy culture. When we got to the topic of "Climate Change" she was claiming that the powers that be are actually practicing "Climate Manipulation." There was no way to get her to look outside her bubble, so I accepted her for what she is.
Around 9:30, I was starting to get tired and left for home. I still had a bit of house cleaning to do before the cleaning lady comes tomorrow, and wanted to do it while I was still able to get something done.
